Q. What happens at my first visit?
We carry out
- A medical history review
- An examination of the teeth and soft tissues (which includes oral cancer screening)
- A periodontal/gum screening
- Radiographs
- A discussion of your concerns and goals for your teeth, mouth and smile
- Initial scaling and polishing including preventative dietary and oral hygiene advice as required from one of our lovely hygiene therapists.

Q. How do I make an appointment?
We will send you a welcome pack with initial registration forms to be completed prior to your visit to aid the smooth running of your first scheduled appointment.
Q. What can I expect from you?
- We will listen to your dental problems and try to give you an explanation and solution to your needs
- We will follow the latest cross-infection control guidelines to maintain a clean and safe practice. Your dental health and safety are our main concerns.
- We will give you a written estimate of any planned treatment (if you opt for private pay as you go care)
- We will try to keep to time because we know everyone hates to be kept waiting. If we can’t we will inform you that we are running late.
- We will endeavor to see you on the same day if you ring the practice before 10am with a dental emergency. Our aim is to get you out of pain or discomfort as soon as possible
Q. What we would expect of you?
- Attend appointments promptly and if you are unable to do so let us know as soon as possible
- Pay bills as requested on time
- If you are not happy with your visits let us know, as it is the only way that we can put things right and improve our service to you and others.
- If you are happy with your visits please refer friends and family you feel would like the service we offer.
Q. Special requirements?

We will do our best to help you. We always regard children as very special patients, and do everything to make their visits as pleasant and enjoyable as possible. Our main aim is to help them form good dental habits that will prevent problems with their teeth later in life.
If you have difficulty with stairs
The practice is situated on the ground floor with just two steps to negotiate. We also have a solid ramp that will allow the use of a wheelchair through out the practice (except in the WC)
Q. Is Denplan Care an insurance policy?
your dentist provide ongoing preventive dental care. However, Denplan arranges, on your behalf, Supplementary Insurance which provides cover towards the cost of treatment required if you suffer a dental injury or dental emergency.
Q. When will my Denplan Care Contract start?

two family/group members – 5%
three family/group members – 10%
four or more family/group members – 15%
The Supplementary Insurance and Denplan Insurance Services fees do not have discounts applied.
Please note: to qualify for discount all payments must be collected using the same method of payment. All correspondence will be sent to the address of the person who pays for the plans.

It is very important that your dental records are kept up to date so that we are aware of any issues that may affect your dental health and treatment. We need to know of any medication that you are taking so please make a note of their names and tell us when you attend. We will ask you to check your medical and personal details each time you attend the practice to ensure that the details we hold for you are correct.
Please also let us know if you move house or change your contact details i.e. telephone number, email address.
