Claire Bennett BSc (Hons)

Dental Therapist

GDC Number 138679

Claire has been in dentistry for over 24 years, working in several different roles. Originally a qualified dental nurse with additional qualifications in dental radiography and oral health education. She progressed to teaching dental implant nursing nationally, for multiple companies and lecturing, as well as running a successful state of the art practice. Claire always felt she wanted to be the other side of the chair and treat patients herself, so returned to university in 2017 to become a dental therapist. Claire graduated from Cardiff University with a first-class honours degree in dental therapy and won multiple awards including British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy National Student of the year.

In February 2021 she was delighted to be invited to join the team at Feniton Dental Practice. Claire is passionate about dentistry and likes to focus on her patient’s needs, providing personal preventative and restorative care.

Alexandra Bishop BSc (Hons)

Dental Therapist

GDC Number 223769

Lex graduated from Teesside University in June 2018 with a First Class Honours Degree in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy, before moving back to her home in the South West. Lex joined the team in March 2021 and has a passion for treating patients with periodontal disease; particularly anxious patients – reassuring them and increasing their confidence in dentistry.

Lex was a dental nurse in both Devon and the North East for 8 years prior to becoming a dental hygienist and therapist which has resulted in her being a highly empathetic and understanding clinician.

While periodontal disease can not be cured, it can be stabilised and maintained and Lex will help improve your oral health and increase your knowledge of the importance of oral hygiene at home.

As a dental therapist, Lex enjoys treating patients with a preventative approach; educating patients and reinforcing the importance of oral hygiene and diet. Lex likes to treat nervous adults and children alike and help them to feel more comfortable in the dental environment.

Outside of work Lex enjoys socialising with her friends and family, spending time with her husband and their puppy, cooking and the occasional bit of retail therapy!
